After that I tried burning a DVD+R DL again and low and behold, the burn was successful.Now this burn was on TDK DVD+R DL and not even on the Verbatim which My burning started immediately and it didnt get stuck at pre-burn anymore. for some reason on my pc the program convertxtodvd doesn't even acknowledge that i have a dvd drive , i believe it is the pcouffin, which i have uninstalled and reinstalled

If you had problems burning with ConvertX but not with Nero if might be because the ConvertX burning engine is more sensitive to poor quality discs.
