Usually it didn't help and where it did help it was from all the smoking he and his wife did around the computer. If you are using inexpensive media and perhaps have an old drive this might happen more often than you like. It's kind of strange that it burns well audio or data CDs and than problems with data DVDs. Found out what the power supply is, it's a Sparkle 300Watt SPU. check over here

Thanks. Some discs need more power than others to burn. But still have other problems in verification. please help me!!!!!!

Thanks again! I have had (and still have, unused now) Burners that will read just fine, but will not come up to power levels enough to complete a power calibration burn. cdanteek built... My burning started immediately and it didnt get stuck at pre-burn anymore. I re-enable the IMAPI service and has nothing to do with the power calibration error. that's all..may be the laser is dusty.. I've downloaded a new DVD burning program to see if that makes any difference. reply Compressed Air Worked! As I understand it the software reads the disc and sets up the proper burn strength from the laser. How Does a computer get Infected? Posts 14,039 try a reboot and reburn, hopefully it was a bad disc.
